Fess Up Friday: The Big Bad Wolf

All right, folks. Since I gushed about NIGHTSHADE by Andrea Cremer this past Monday, I figured I'd tackle something similar for this edition of Fess Up Friday.

This week's trend question: Are you sick of werewolves?

Confession: I've never really been into werewolves until I read... wait for it... Twilight.

Yes, I know. I suck at life.

Anyway, now I'm more open to read books that center aorund these particular creatures, especially since authors are changing the mythology in really impressive ways.

So how about you? Sick of werewolves yet?

  1. I just finished reading SHIVER and ordered LINGER because I have to know what happens next, but I'm not really into werewolf books. I won SHIVER through a blog contest. :)

  2. Hey, awesome, you write, too! Do any of your books use Puerto Rican mythology/culture? That's something I'd LOVE to read. :)

  3. I couldn't get into werewolves until I read Bitten by Kelley Armstrong and it blew me away. I'm still not REALLY into the whole werewolf thing (as in, I don't seek them out) but I am desperate to read Shiver and I don't shy away from them anymore. Having a couple of hot wolves in True Blood helps too :-D

  4. Oh, I'm not really into the werewolf thing yet. I really should read Shiver so I can find out what the fuss is all about!

  5. Never!!! Werewolves are an essential primeval part of the nether world - they howl like no other!!!

    And they have beautiful eyes!!!

    Take care

  6. I've never read a book with werewolves other than Twilight, so I guess I can't be sick of them yet. I'll probably get around to reading Shiver at some point, but at the moment I'm indulging in my new found enjoyment of zombies.

  7. Hmm, I've read a couple of werewolve books, love Shiver. Although if they flood the market like vampires it may get old fast.

  8. Oddly enough, I am not sick of werewolves or vampires. Yet. But this is due to the fact that authors ARE changing up the history of them, as you said. What I am totally sick of is zombies, as no one seems able to come up with a creative background. Aaaand I just noticed a comment of someone into zombies. Sorry to offend, but hey, I have to be honest. XD

  9. Shiver and Linger are definite favs of mine. There's also Need and Captivate by Carrie Jones. Both werewolves AND faeries are in those. Oh, and Shannon Delany just came out with 13 To Life, which is also about werewolves. Seems to be a trend!

And I agree with Dawn. Kelly Armstrong's Otherworld series is wicked fun.

  10. I know everybody's all gaga over vampire boys, but the werewolves remind me way more of my hubz, in all the good ways! Hot temperatures. Check. Scruffy, unkempt ruggedness. Check. Playful yet protective personality. Check. Passion. Check.

    *sigh* I love my werewolf.

Twilight and Soulless are my fave werewolves so far, but I have yet to read Shiver and Linger (though I REALLY want to!)

  11. I have liked werewolves for a long time. I'm not tired of them because I don't really read all the trendy teen books.
