If you don't watch Gossip Girl, don't fret. This is not a conversion post.
I repeat: this is not a conversion post.
So please know that if you don't watch Gossip Girl, I'm not forcing you to watch it on the CW every Monday night at 9. Or to DVR it because you have other things on your agenda. Or to read TV blogs that review each episode in glorious detail.
There. Glad I got that out of the way...
Now on to the good stuff.
Ladies and gentlemen, I give you: The Basshole.
Chuck Bass, playboy extraordinaire and resident bad boy on the CW's Monday night show, Gossip Girl (it's on at 9, in case you're wondering. Oh, wait! I already said that...). I love a good jerk every once in a while. Some would call Chuck Bass just that: a jerk. To me, he's more than just a jerk with great skin and cool hair. He's a boy who lost his way, then picked himself up and chose a better path.
And, uh... Then he kinda reverted back to being a jerk... But now he's trying to be good again! I think...
Anyway, here's a funny (yet fake) interview I found that Forbes magazine did with The Basshole:
I wanted to share this with you because I'll be talking about characterization in the next few days, and I thought that The Basshole's interview fit perfectly with the theme. So if you're a Gossip Girl fan, go check it out!
If not, well... You don't have to read it. And you certainly don't have to watch Gossip Girl on the CW, every Monday night at 9... Or DVR it...
Oooohh, I love Gossip Girl (my guilty pleasure). I'm definitely a Dan girl. And I agree with you about Chuck; he's not just a jerk. I think they do a good job of giving him texture. Plus, you sympathize with him because of his childhood (or lack there of).
ReplyDeleteAgreed!
ReplyDeleteI think the Basshole's childhood really gets people in his corner. He's trying to change for the better because of it.
And yeah, I'm more of a Dan fan, too! Although I think it's because Penn Badgley (the actor who plays him) is pretty cute!
