The awesome people over at YA Highway have a blog road trip going on, and it's all about following. On Twitter, that is.
Their question: If literary characters had Twitter accounts, whose tweets would you follow?
I read this and thought: "WHOA! Stalker time!" (as opposed to Borat's 'sexy time!', which I often blurt out in front of complete strangers...).
Okay, peeps. Here's my list of literary characters I would stal-
I mean, I would follow on Twitter:
1) Stefan and Damon Salvatore from The Vampire Diaries series
Can you imagine what their tweets would be like?? Stefan brooding, Damon bitching. Hilarity ensues.
2)
Severus Snape from the Harry Potter series
I'm not too convinced that Snape would agree to Twitter, but if he did, I'd be glued to my computer. The man's not only a brilliant wizard, but his double agent experience would be fun to read about. Plus, he hates everything. Who doesn't love a character that gets pissed so easily?
3)
Katsa from Graceling.
Not only is she a kick-butt heroine and fiercely independent, but I see parts of myself in her. Not that I can beat people to a pulp or anything... I'd like to, though. That'd be nice.
Also, it would be cool to read about her life as Po's leading lady. *swoon*
4)
Grover Underwood from the Percy Jackson series (book version, though).
I say book version because Grover's much more introverted, awkward and funny as a literary character. The movie version was trying to be all suave and hip, which was funny, but my Grover is the sweet little satyr who plays Hilary Duff songs on his reed pipes. I bet his tweets would be all about eating soda cans and fearing death. Super.
5) And last but not least...
Sam Roth from Shiver
Love songs, poetry, the suckiness of winter, books--these are all things Sam would tweet about. And I have no problem reading about them :D
So what say you? Who would you stalk... I mean, follow... on Twitter?
Funsies!! I would definetly stalk Severus Snape too! I love Alan Rickman, AND Snape, it's a bonus!
ReplyDeletehmmmmm. . . Peeta from the Hunger Games, the boy is clever, and sweet. And pretty too :)
Great choices! I may need to check out the Vampire Diaries series. :)
ReplyDeleteI don't Twitter yet, but I would love to follow Mo and Dustfinger from Inkheart, Dumbledore, and Halt from The Ranger's Apprentice. :-)
ReplyDeleteOMG, definitely Damon. (I already stalk Ian on Twitter...and he's been my muse avatar on more than one occasion on my blog...)
ReplyDeleteI'd also stalk Wrath (but only Wrath) from the JR Ward Black Dagger Brotherhood series, Roarke from JD Robb's "in death" series, Jack from 24, Sawyer from Lost, David from Melrose Place... Uh, can you tell I like my bad boys?
I'd stalk...oops, follow Sam Roth on Twitter. And the Vampire Diary boys. :)
ReplyDeleteI'd follow Snape. I love him, love him, love him. Also, Mo and Dustfinger, like Shannon said. Daniel Sempere from shadow of the wind. My gosh! The adventures that boy would tweet about! And Death, from The Book Thief.
ReplyDeleteSnape, definitely. But none of my 19th century English novel heroines. They'd be too wordy for Twitter.
ReplyDeleteI agree, I'd follow Snape. He'd be so interesting! =)
ReplyDeleteEeek - I'm so ancient and I don't use twitter!!
ReplyDeleteI wouldn't know whom to er... follow obsessively!!
But at a push... it'll be Discworld characters from Terry Pratchett!
:-)
Take care

Ooh, Snape. Yessss...
ReplyDeleteI'd follow Cammie from the Gallagher Girls series, and probably Luna Lovegood from Harry Potter too. Hers would be hysterical. :)
Ohmigosh, I'd follow sooooo many! Probably Gandalf and Dumbledore. Yup.
ReplyDeleteGreat post!
This post has secured your awesome forever, IMO. (c:
ReplyDeleteI must agree with Snape and would add Jace(from TMI), Max(from Maximum Ride), The Colonel(from LFA), and Gale(from HG). Ah, how I love the angsty ones.
Great post!

Very cool post! Hmmm...I'd follow Peter Cottontail. I'm sure he'd take his iphone and tweet on his adventures in the countryside. :)
ReplyDeleteToo cute! Yes, tweats from the Vampire Diary guys would be entertaining.
ReplyDeleteI would also follow (drool over) the tweets of Alex Fuentes from PERFECT CHEMISTRY by Simone Elkeles.
All of you are AWESOME!
ReplyDeleteGlad to see Snape getting some love :D I would definitely follow everyone you all have suggested. Sucks that it'll never happen, though.
Snape was a great choice. I would love to hear what was going on in his mind.
ReplyDeleteThanks for sharing this excellent post.
How did I ever miss this post? I love this idea. I'd totally stalk Peeta *swoon* as he tweets about frosting and baking bread and his undying love for Katniss. :)
