Why Must You TEMPT Me?!

Seriously, the world is cruel.

It likes to torment me with unattainable awesomeness.

Case in point:

These are all books I can't wait to read, but can't afford right now. To make matters worse, there are a bunch of new books arriving in the next couple of weeks!

Temptations everywhere!!

*sigh*

For my sucky bank account, world, I curse you. A lot.

What books are you dying to read this summer?

  1. I feel your pain, Amparo! There are the ones that just came out that I'm dying to read, like SPELLS by Aprilynne Pike and TORMENT by Lauren Kate, and then there are the ones that aren't even out yet, like Kiersten White's PARANORMALCY, and I'd really like to get my hands on Natalie Whipple's unsold RELAX, I'M A NINJA.

Have Red Pyramid, btw. My husband is eating it up. He says there's action on every page. I get it when he's thru.

  2. Oh it's not fair is it?!?!?!
    Boo to your bank account!

I found that making a wishlist on amazon and sending it all out to anyone who cares enough about me to buy me the things on my list works a treat! LOL!

I'd love In Our Time - Magnum Photographers. When it first came out a few years back it was squillions of pounds - it's slowly coming down to something that I can afford by x-mas! :-)

    Take care

  3. There are a couple of Shannon McKenna romances I've been wanting to check out, and the Nanny Diaries sequel. But I too have a flailing bank account. D:

  4. I am in the exact same predicament. I love reading and buying new books, and every single new book that comes out always sounds SO AWESOME. My bank account, however, doesn't agree.

I've settled for waiting until my library acquires the book.

  5. I'm dying to read too many books at the moment. But I live on a student budget. AND right now I'm saving every cent for a trip at the end of the summer. New books are things of a couple months ago. Sigh.

  8. This summer:

    Black Lagoon Manga (Vol. 1-9)

    Stephen King's Gerald's Game
Stephen King's Wizard and the Glass

Goldberg's Writing Down the Bones: Freeing the Writer Within

...The list is still growing and I know how you feel about temptations. I have money though, thanks to my friends and their graduation presents, I just have to wait until the end of July though for the books that I want to come out. Damn it, slow publication processes!

Hope you get to read all those books soon. Write on and read on, Amparo!

  11. I feel your pain:
16-year-old girl - job = no cash + wants the books of awesome = *tear*

    I'm waiting for Mockingjay and...Mockingjay
Actually there are too many for me to even try to make a list. Yours seems pretty spot on. I don't want to torture you further but The Body Finder was FANTASTIC. If there's one book you can get right now I would highly recommend it, my friend!
