New Creation BLOGFEST!!

I know what you're thinking. "Another blogfest, Amparo? Really?"

BUT when I found out about Summer Ross's NEW CREATION BLOGFEST, I had to sign up :D

The what: Post your favorite last sentence of any story you've written, then post the first line of a brand new story.

Here's the deal: my YA paranormal romance doesn't have a last line you can understand on its own. Because I'm weird like that. So here are the four last lines:

But what came next wouldn't be entirely up to dear ol' fate.
I'd get to choose for myself, too.
Something I would never take for granted.
"Right," I said, believing it for the first time in my life.

Although I'm currently working on another project (YA contemporary), I'm not sharing that first line just yet :D Instead, I'm posting one I thought about a month ago for a possible YA historical urban fantasy (mouth. ful.):

The night I opened my eyes for the first time, a man named Adolf Hitler gave me a hug.

I so don't want to be my main character for that WIP...

Make sure you head over to Summer's blog and check out the other entries!!

And thanks for reading my randomness!

  1. Wow, that is random! Yet it could totally go together. This is a cool idea. The end of a book is really just a new beginning.

I especially like your ending sentences. I'm tempted to check out other entries in this blogfest now.

  3. The last lines of 2010: I love the positive hopefulness of this ending!! I'm like "go for it!!"

The first line of 2011: Whoa!!!! What a great first line - I'm hooked!!

    Take care

  4. Those are both great! The opening line made me laugh and wonder, what the heck?!

  5. I don't think a lot of our entries make sense alone (last sentence only) but it shows I think quite a bit about the voice of the writer- that last sentence is great-strong, on its own!

  6. Great lines! The new one is rather interesting, I'm not sure I'd want to be an MC in that wip either. LOL Thank you Fairy much for Participating

  7. Hmm. The new sentence is interesting. I have a feeling it will be deliciously wonderful. :)

  8. ...obviously not because Hitler hugs the MC, but because I know your mind works in awesome ways.

  13. I enjoyed both sentences. You made me think, the opening is very unusual.

  16. Stopping by for the blogfest!
How disturbing to find yourself meeting Hitler when you open your eyes for the first time-- although how would you know??? lots of questions! Interesting!

And your last line was perfectly fine standing alone. Very nice!

  17. Good on you for posting more than one sentence of the ending! Defy convention and all that. And I love the 'we make our own Destiny' feel of those four lines.

I really like the possibility of getting a hug from Hitler too. Do we know much about his private life? Was he nice to his family and loved ones??

Thanks for taking part in this blogfest. I signed up late, but I'd love to know what you think of my sentences!
