Monday Book Madness AND A Contest!

Okay. Let's kick things off today with a book I just finished and went 'Holy Hell!' because of its awesomeness.

IF I STAY by Gayle Forman

Ze blurb:

In a single moment, everything changes. Seventeen-year-old Mia has no memory of the accident; she can only recall riding along the snow-wet Oregon road with her family. Then, in a blink, she finds herself watching as her own damaged body is taken from the wreck...

A sophisticated, layered, and heartachingly beautiful story about the power of family and friends, the choices we all make—and the ultimate choice Mia commands.

This book broke my heart, you guys. Tore it a-p-a-r-t. But you know what? I wanted that to happen. I wanted to feel Mia's heartache, and get confused regarding her fate after her accident. You see, she falls into a coma, and has to decide whether to stay alive or leave forever.

*cue waterworks*

It's haunting. It's heartbreaking. It totally didn't end the way I expected, and I loved it for that. Go buy it.

  6. Woah, Lisa, WHERE SHE WENT is told from his perspective? I totally didn't know that. I was worried about a sequel because I don't want it to ruin my love of the first book. But if it's from HIS POV, that might just win me over. :-)

Amparo, great review! You have impeccable taste, my friend. :-)

  9. I just finished that book a few days ago. I was surprised it never talked once about the long term physical efforts of the accident. Besides that, it was a great book. I choked up. I teared up.
Congrats on a 100 followers in a month. NICE!
